STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The purpose of the Institute is to prepare Christians who desires additional training for the service in the Body of Christ, those who are called to full-time ministry, as well as those desiring a greater knowledge of the Word.

We will train men and women in the Word of God, in true worship and in the work of the ministry through:

  1. Sound doctrinal classroom teaching on fundamental concepts and principles from the Bible. A foundation of knowledge from the Word of God is essential to succeed in any Christian endeavour.

  1. Hands-on training, with close supervision and accountability. Classroom teaching alone is not sufficient to equip ministers adequately to meet and overcome the challenges of our generation.

  1. Exposure to nationally and internationally proven ministries.

VISION

The vision and purpose of ICBC is to help Christian men and women become Biblically literate and spiritually gifted servants of Christ.  To minister in all the nations of the earth; equipped for the work of the ministry, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  Every effort has been made to ensure that we have not strayed from the original vision of Jesus Christ.  The essence and focus are “Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”  (1 Corinthians 2:2).

Students are equipped to make them Biblically literate.  Lectures are conducted in the evening and times are allocated to the students, to put into practice what they have heard and learn.

STATEMENT OF FAITH
  1. We believe the Scriptures, to be the inspired and inherent Word of God, and as such they are revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct.

(2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 2:2).

  1. We believe in one God, eternal and self-existent, self-revealed and manifested to man as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

(Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isaiah 43:10 – 11; Matthew 28:19).

  1. We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.

(John 11:14; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:26; Luke 2:7; 1 Timothy 2:5).

  1. We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and His Blood is a sacrifice for our sins. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Majesty on High.
  • Peter 2:24; Hebrews 9:11 – 14; 1 Corinthians 15:3 – 8; Acts 2:32 – 36; Hebrews 10:12).
  1. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit to glorify Christ, to convict men of sin, righteousness, and judgement, and to empower the believer.

(John 15:26; John 16:8, 14; Acts 1:8).

  1. We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin.

(Genesis 1:26 – 31; Genesis 3:1– 7; Romans 5:12 – 21).

  1. We believe that man be justified only by grace through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 4:11 – 12; Romans 3:24 – 28).

  1. We believe that water baptism by immersion, identifies us with the death and burial of Christ, and that we should arise to walk in newness of life.

(Romans 6:3 – 9; 1 Peter 3:21).

  1. We believe in the Lord’s Supper consisting of the elements – the bread and the cup of the fruit of the vine. It is the symbol expressing our sharing the Divine Nature of our Lord Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:14);  a memorial of His suffering and death, a prophecy of His second coming (1 Corinthians 11:26), and is enjoined on all believers “until He comes”!

  • We believe that the true Church is composed of such persons who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. Peter 2:24 – 25; Ephesians 2:19 – 20).

  1. We believe in the personal, literal coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to judge both the living and the dead. (1 Thessalonians 4:16; Hebrews 9:27; 1 Corinthians 15:51 – 52; Revelation 20:11 – 15; Acts 24:15).

  1. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all the dead. (Acts 24:15; 1 Corinthians 15:35 – 44; Revelation 20:11 – 15).

We believe in everlasting blessedness for the believer, with judgement and everlasting punishment for the unbelievers.
